Corcovado National Park: Full-Day Sirena / San Pedrillo
Tour Description
Corcovado National Park has five ranger stations, and on this tour, you will have the opportunity to visit two of the most popular in a single day.
The first station you will visit is Sirena Station. To get there, you will take a boat from Colorada beach, with an approximate travel time of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Along the way, you can enjoy stunning coastal views, spot dolphins, and—during whale season—you may even encounter whales.
Sirena Station is ideal for wildlife observation. The hike is relaxed, on mostly flat terrain, and the main goal is to search for and observe animals in their natural habitat. Wildlife sightings may vary, as animals roam freely. Still, Sirena is considered one of the best places to see endangered mammals such as tapirs, peccaries, monkeys, snakes, sloths, birds, and many other species. The guided walk in Sirena lasts approximately 3.5 hours.
After the hike, you will enjoy lunch at Sirena Station. Once finished, you will take the boat back to San Pedrillo Station.
Arrival at San Pedrillo is around 12:30 p.m. (schedule may vary depending on the group and guide). From there, we continue into the forest trails to explore the second station of Corcovado.
San Pedrillo Station is perfect for immersing yourself in the rainforest. Here, you can observe primary forest, a great diversity of plant life, visit a beautiful waterfall, and, if weather conditions allow, swim in a refreshing natural pool in the heart of the jungle.
San Pedrillo can sometimes surprise visitors with incredible wildlife sightings such as pumas or tapirs, although these are unpredictable. More commonly, you may encounter crocodiles, monkeys, sloths, agoutis, and a wide variety of bird species.
