For offshore fishing, boats usually travel 15–25 miles depending on fish activity, targeting species like sailfish, marlin, and mahi-mahi. Many anglers choose to fish offshore in the morning (catch & release) and then return closer to shore in the afternoon to catch fish for dinner, such as snapper or grouper.
